May as well get the bad news for me over first. Monday, I had a carotid ultrasound done and a cardio echo gram. The results were not at all what I expected. I have a moderate blockage in both the left and right carotid. I’ve never had a high cholesterol reading. The first thing I was told was to watch my diet. If you know me, you should be laughing hysterically at that advice. The cardio echo gram revealed regurgitation (leaking) in the mitral and aortic valves. There is no medical treatment. Surgical treatment depends on the severity of the leaking. I’ve had no symptoms and completely shocked. Obviously, I’m very concerned especially with my family history. I am meeting with a cardiologist Thursday. I’m trying to stay calm until I meet with him. However, my mind is running all over the place.

On a better note, my pergola and sod were installed. What a big difference! Both add so much to the outside and I was able to set out some Christmas decorations. My dishwasher was delivered but not installed. I have to wait for the plumber. So, who knows when that will be done.

Tim and I took Belle and Emmet to see Santa Claus and have a picture taken. There was a raffle for a basket of dog items. I was shocked when they called me and told me I won. I split the items between Belle and Emmet. I read an article saying that weighing your dog’s food is more accurate then using a measuring cup. I decided to buy a food scale and discovered I was feeding Belle twice the amount I should be feeding her.

Tim and I put lights on tree behind (Uncle) Frank’s stone. The clear lights really light up the area. I put up one of my skinny trees in my living room. I put the lights on. Maybe tomorrow, if I can find the ornaments, I’ll finish up. I have way too many ornaments. I bought myself an ornament from the Bradford Exchange. I’m sure you’ve seen it advertised. It has a cardinal and called “A Message From Heaven.” I have it on a stand on the mantle.

Happy Waffle Day! Don’t forget your booster shot! Love, (Auntie) Beverly

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas !!
