Two more weeks and I will be closing on my condo. The trim has been painted on the first floor and the flooring will be installed starting Monday. I plan to take my time moving but hope to be settled, for the most part, by the end of June. I plan to move one storage unit at a time with as little stress as possible. The person who moved me into storage is no longer doing that. However, I have the name of another person and I’m waiting to hear from him.

It was so nice to have breakfast with Marie. We hadn’t seen each other since before Covid. As I’ve mentioned before, we are very different but bonded through our experiences dealing with ALS. Neither one of us wants anything to do with ALS or to be reminded about it.

Unfortunately, the lesion has grown back on my scalp. I called the dermatologist here and luckily, there was a cancellation for Thursday. However, Carole, Rick and I had planned to meet Thursday morning. We all agreed that I should take the cancellation and we will meet this Thursday instead. The doctor examined my scalp and sent another specimen for biopsy. She said she scraped quite a bit off and I believe it. My scalp has been quite painful. I have to be very gentle just combing my hair. It will take a week before the biopsy results will be back.

Another lesson learned this week. Don’t try to unlock your car door by reaching in through an open window. If you do, make sure you have your keys with you because the alarm will go off. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

Belle and I were on the beach the other day and as we were leaving, 2 women asked if they could pat Belle. So, we stopped and as they were patting Belle, a conversation began. They mentioned they were visiting for a few days. I asked where they were from and they said Western Mass. I told them I grew up in South Hadley. To make a long story short, the husband of one of the women taught with Rick and worked under him as Superintendent. Talk about a small world. The other lady has lived in Holyoke her whole life. I know my older siblings knew her relatives because I recognized the name. Small world!

Tim and Emmet are coming back tomorrow. It will be nice to have them back!

Belle and I had class today. We have one more class left. If you ask me, Belle is the smartest puppy in the class! Next week is graduation! We will definitely start another class. I’m not sure if I will stay with the same trainer. It depends on when her next class will begin and what skills we would work on.

(Uncle) Frank bought me a beautiful Marquis Sapphire cross pendant. He didn’t physically purchase it for me but I saw it and I know if he was here he would say, “You should get it.” So, I did! Then, I realized I should have matching earrings. So, I bought those, too. Honestly, I’m not a jewelry person but these are really beautiful.

Happy Waffle Day! 💕 (Auntie) Beverly
