It was a busy week at #13 Maritime Landing. Tiling, beadboard , doors, stairway and fireplace were installed. The crazy thing is that I don’t remember anything I selected. It’s like I was in a fog last summer. Seeing things in place in my condo is like opening presents at Christmas. Everything is a surprise and so far, I’m happy with all my choices.

I had breakfast with the realtor who sold Bridge St. It’s funny how you make friends with people. I still speak\meet with the people I met through ALS. I will admit though, that I will not discuss ALS with anybody. I want to forget that whole time of my life. Last week, I aerated the grass around (Uncle) Frank’s stone. The grass looks great. It is very thick and dark green. The cemetery will be replacing the veterans’ flags for Memorial Day.

I’ve been having back issues the past 2 weeks. My back bothers me periodically but this time it is more severe and longer lasting. I had a virtual appointment with my primary care doctor. I am on prednisone for 5 days. He also gave me Tramadol to control future flare ups. However, the first night I took one, I had an unexpected but possible side effect. I was awake all night and felt trancelike until noon. Of course, I didn’t take anymore.

Monday morning, I am having breakfast with one of (Uncle) Frank’s teammates from softball. Norm’s wife died 4 months after (Uncle) Frank. They are buried on the same street not far from each other. If Norm and I are visiting at the same time, he usually stops to talk. His daughter has moved in with him so, the 3 of us are having breakfast together.

The weather here has been very damp and cold. However, Belle and I have been able to get to the beach. Every time we walk on Bridge St., Belle pulls to go up the driveway. I feel so bad for her. She’s never had a real home! Hopefully, that ends in a few weeks. We had our third out of six classes today. I think it’s safe to say I am not a star student. The owners are the students NOT the dogs. The trainer told me today that I talk too much to Belle! Do you think (Uncle) Frank thought I talked too much? Also, the trainer does not want to hear me say, “Good girl” again!! I guess it’s good to learn different methods of training. We started with 6 in the class but 2 have dropped out. There are no make up classes if you miss. I’m sure Belle and I are benefiting from the classes. I’m hoping to get her certified as a therapy dog. Once I’m sure she’ll pass the test, I’ll switch to a therapy dog trainer.

Happy Waffle Day AND Happy Mother’s Day !!
Love to all, (Auntie) Beverly

My cutie!
