That’s how I feel when I wake up here every morning. Someone asked me if I prefer Florida to the Cape. No! Each place has it’s own pros and cons. Each place is special in its own way. When I’m on the Cape, it’s all about the Cape. When I’m in Florida, it’s an endless summer. I’m very lucky and I know it !

I went back with my car for the minor things I wanted corrected. The auto body technician couldn’t have been more understanding, kind and attentive. He actually touched up little scrapes that were not caused by the accident.

The lesions on my scalp are bothering me again. So, I have an appointment to visit the dermatologist before I leave. My eyes seem to be getting worse and I’m thinking that maybe I need new glasses. I called the doctor who tests for my glasses. The first appointment I can get is September 12. Can you believe that? I’m hoping when I see the glaucoma doctor in April, she can help me.

Had some excitement here in the evening yesterday. I was making a turkey leg and sweet potato crisps for Belle and I for dinner. I had put the sweet potato slices on parchment paper in one of those black plastic take out dishes. I forgot that I wasn’t using the microwave and put the sweet potatoes in a 450 degree oven. After 15 minutes, I opened the oven to turn the potato slices over. You can imagine my surprise when a cloud of smoke poured out and the plastic dish had completely melted and was burning on the oven floor. I immediately closed the oven door but not in time. The smoke detector started beeping. Ironically, the day before, the maintenance man had replaced all the smoke detector batteries for me. I lowered the ac and opened some windows. I tried to remove the smoke detector battery but I couldn’t. The best I could do was open it. Within a few minutes, the constant beeping stopped because the smoke cleared. However, because I had opened the detector, the beeping continued every couple of minutes. I was finally able to close it and the beeping stopped completely. But, I was left with a gooey oven floor. I let it cool down and began the cleaning process today. I googled the best way to clean the mess and tackled the floor this afternoon. Tomorrow, I will attempt the 2 racks, then, run the whole oven through the automatic cleaner. Hopefully, it won’t smell much.

Tomorrow is 3 years since (Uncle) Frank died. I had Mass here today for him. Tomorrow, will be Mass on the Cape. Belle and I will go to Mo’s for breakfast. He always enjoyed blueberry pancakes and bagels to go from Mo’s.

Hard to believe February is over.

Happy Sunday ! Love, (Auntie) Beverly
