Belle and I are the proud owners of our brand new condo. The first move will be Wednesday, the 7th and the final move Monday, the 12th. I know unpacking will take forever but I’m not in any hurry. Of course, there are still things that have to be completed but I am planning to be sleeping there by next weekend. My dishwasher has not arrived but that’s no big deal. I just wash the same cereal bowl and mug and the same dish and utensils. I don’t use nor need much more. The builder had told me I could pick out the plantings I want. So, an old landscaping friend of mine met with me and offered his advice which I was grateful to receive. The plantings are very simple consisting of blue hydrangeas, pink hydrangeas, Japanese holly and sea grass. The side patio is done for the time being but will be extended more a little later.

I saw the dermatologist last week for another treatment on my scalp. She was concerned about the other knee which is still swollen. She was worried about a deep vein clot and suggested I contact my PCP who, of course, couldn’t see me and suggested I go to the E.R. There, they did an ultrasound which was fine and drained some blood out of the knee. Nothing more to do except warm compresses. It is painful but the swelling should be down in a couple of weeks. So, here I am, trying to pack with sometimes severe pain in both legs.

Although the results of the MRI and X-ray of my hip and back were emailed to me, I am neither a radiologist nor neurosurgeon so they may as well be in Greek. I called for the results and was told I have to have an appointment with the PA and surgeon to explain them to me. Needless to say, I was irate. This means I have to wait 4 weeks for an appointment when I could be having treatment for 4 weeks. Because I complained, the appointment was moved up a week earlier. Yesterday, I received a message that the appointment was changed again to July 21. I called back, got a recording and now it’s the long weekend. I don’t believe the doctor knows anything about all of this. He would never leave me in this pain. I don’t believe the PA even showed him the MRI and X-ray. Trust me, I will have plenty to say when I meet with them. I considered acupuncture but decided to see the neurosurgeon first.

Our holiday plans for a cookout tomorrow with Carole, Rick, Stephanie, Chris, Griffin, Liza and Beth have been postponed until Monday. The weather has to improve by then !

Happy 4th of July ! Happy Waffle Day ! Love to all, (Auntie) Beverly
