Belle and I will be leaving for Florida in just over one week. Even though we should probably stay to keep an eye on the landscaping, we’re leaving. I will meet with the landscaper and review where I want my plants to be in the front and side. I’m actually the only one who selected the plants I wanted and where they are being planted.

I contacted my primary care doctor about my finger and saw his PA. She was very good. I felt silly complaining about my finger but it wasn’t getting better. She lanced it and squeezed out some clear, thin strip of something looking a little fleshy. She didn’t know what it was. By nighttime, it felt much better but is still pretty tender. I have a physical on the 4th so if it still bothers me, I’ll have the doctor check it again.

I scheduled 3 closet companies to come give me some design ideas and estimates. I am waiting for the final estimate which should arrive Wednesday. I don’t plan on doing anything until Spring but this will give me time to really put some thought into it and not be rushed.

I finally assembled the file cabinet I purchased. Since last April, I had been just tossing receipts, etc. in bags . I kept putting off starting this project because I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. Now that it’s done, I’ve promised myself not to let this happen again. Of course, I’m going to Florida so the same thing will happen.

Emmet was neutered by his Shar Pei doctor in upstate N.Y. yesterday. The poor thing is not happy at all. He can’t run, jump, go for longs walks for 7 – 10 days. He can only go out to pee. Good luck with that. Emmet is not the type to lay around. He’s always busy!

I visited the macular degeneration doctor yesterday. Nothing has changed in the past year. That was good news.

Before COVID, when I was in Florida, I had acupuncture on my shoulder and it worked great. I’m going to go back when I get down there again. After the issue I had with my back/hip during the past summer, I think it’s worth another try. That pain was the worst I’ve had even before my fusion. I don’t want to go through that again.

Today, I decided to part with my signed Mary Higgins Clark books. I took them to our church thrift shop. The women volunteering there were very happy to receive the 9 books. They will definitely get a good price and sell quickly. Everyone on the Cape knows Mary Higgins Clark. She spent her summers living in Dennis about one mile from my new home. She actually invited me to her house one summer. We sat overlooking the ocean enjoying a glass of wine.

We had a terrible thunderstorm last night with torrential rain. It didn’t bother Belle at all. She slept right through it. I have to admit that I was ready to crawl inside her cage with her. Tomorrow, she goes to the groomer for a well needed haircut and bath.

Happy Waffle Day! Love, (Auntie) Beverly
