I can’t believe a new year is starting! 2021 yikes! It seems like we were just talking about Y2K. The years go faster and faster. I can’t believe it will be 2 years that (Uncle) Frank died. It’s like it was last week. I remember it vividly.

I went to the dentist yesterday and I have to have a root canal done ASAP! There’s always something. Belle and I are leaving for Florida Wednesday so, I’m contacting an Endodontist down there. I will schedule it for a morning when Belle is in daycare. The irony is that my tooth wasn’t bothering me at all. You never know.

I made a final decision on my appliances today. I didn’t care for the salesperson but I’m happy with my selection. It seems that some companies make black matte stainless steel appliances. That solves my issue of black vs stainless steel. I have decisions to make about lights. There will be recessed lighting but I’m not sure the lights I had planned to use in the dining room and wall sconces will be right for the condo. It’s definitely different from Bridge St. I guess that isn’t a bad thing. I definitely have to get rid of a lot of my furniture including the set I bought one year before I sold the house. It’s much too big. I don’t want to use things just because I have them. It’s a major step! The house is almost completely framed and I like it. I hate all these decisions but I am much more interested and excited about this new venture.

Here’s what I call a Frank Wink as opposed to a God Wink. I know some of you won’t believe it but I absolutely believe it. I used to always get on (Uncle) Frank about putting a double knot in his shoes and he never would. The other day I was at the cemetery and I told him that he hadn’t visited for a while and he could stop by anytime. I’m here! I went for a run and as always I double knotted my shoes. At the end of my run I was stretching and happened to look down at my shoes. Both shoes were untied and the laces were neatly tucked in so I wouldn’t trip on them. How could that happen? I had a visitor!!! I wish I had thought to take a picture for unbelievers. I believe! I didn’t imagine it!

My whole adult life I have been 5’5”. About 4 years ago, every time I went to the doctor, I measured 5’4”. Last week, I had a checkup and I was 5’3 3/4”. Pretty soon my running shorts will be Bermuda shorts.

Carole and Rick were on the Cape for a couple of days and we met for breakfast yesterday. We hadn’t been together for a while so, there was plenty to discuss.

At this time next week, Belle and I will be in sunny Florida and enjoying breakfast on the patio again. Tim had planned on coming with Emmet for 6 weeks. He also planned to stop in D.C. and visit Alexandra. However, there are so many restrictions, he has decided against it. I can understand his decision.

Happy New Year ! Love, (Auntie) Beverly
